HOW TO DISASSEMBLE A PUSH CONTROL BUTTON (WHEN IT’S STUCK DOWN)
Step 1A: Begin the Release
Using a flat head / screwdriver, begin to release the flange. Be gentle with approach to not damage the plastic washer just below.
Step 1B: Repeat process
Using an additional flathead screwdriver begin to “pop off” the release button completely around the base of the button
Step 1C: Continue Releasing
Repeat this process. The button will begin to release.
Step 2A: Removal of Unit…Be Careful
Once the button is loose, it will spring up.
Step 2B: Released Push Button
The assembly comes apart with internal spring.
Step 3: Clean Out Debris
Typically a button will stick due to residue or foreign materials within the spring chamber. Clean with household cleaning solution.
Step 3a: Lubricate Button
Step 4A: Insert the Core Unit Into Place
At this point, you will want to lubricate the unit with ordinary lubricant.
Step 4B: Reassemble the Flange
Step 5A: Push Down
Step 5B: Using Two Thumbs/Fingers
Push down on the outer flange until you hear it snap into place. The Push Control Button is now ready for use.
